Samantha Mohr
Mohr, one of the UGA student, who recommended her to participate in into Miss Columbus 1985 pageant, took home the crown. Mohr became eligible to participate in the Miss Georgia pageant, which began in June. Mohr won Saturday's competition, June 22 1985. The winner earned more than $3,500 in cash scholarships as well as other prize money from the state pageant. The activities she took part in as Miss Georgia included appearances in public locations across Georgia. Mohr the Georgia representative was at Miss America 1986, Atlantic City, New Jersey in September of 1985. With computer models that accurately forecasted the likelihood that Susan Akin would be named Miss America, Mohr's odds were calculated at 22: 1. Mohr didn't make the Top-10 list for the national crown. Mohr was Miss Georgia for a total of ten years. This was until Marlesa Bal, her successor to the title, was named Miss Georgia 1986, on June 28th in 1986.
